About the Centre

This centre is a well-established, Exceeding-rated community-based early learning centre located in St Ives. Proudly operating under the same ownership since its establishment, our centre has built a strong reputation for excellence, stability, and genuine community connection.

The service caters for up to 53 children across 3 rooms and operates from 7:30am to 6:00pm. The centre features a thoughtful blend of natural and built play environments and resonates with those who value a warm, homely atmosphere for both children and educators.

About the Role
The centre is seeking a dedicated and experienced Centre Director who values collaboration, inclusivity, and high-quality early education. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be working on the floor alongside your team while also overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and support marketing initiatives to promote the service and maintain strong occupancy
  • Oversee the daily operations of the long day care centre in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Provide clear leadership, direction, and ongoing guidance to all educators
  • Manage key operational functions including occupancy, wage control, rostering, and budgeting
  • Maintain a strong focus on the safety and wellbeing of children, educators, families, the community, and the Approved Provider
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional learning and personal development
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing mentoring and support of educators

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience working as a Nominated Supervisor
  • A Diploma in Children's Services or a Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Current Working with Children Check, Child Protection Training, National Child Safety Training, and First Aid certification
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
  • In-depth knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Standards (NQS), and the Assessment and Rating process
  • A mature, confident leadership style with strong decision-making abilities
  • Demonstrated experience in team management, compliance, and centre operations
  • Strong business expertise with the ability to balance quality care and centre performance
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to thrive in a diverse and multicultural environment
  • A genuine passion for delivering high-quality education and care in partnership with educators, children, families, and the wider community
  • Excellent written, digital, and verbal communication skills
  • Two professional references
